The method · The As-Built

We don't ask you to describe your business. We survey it.

Before you renovate a building, you do an "as-built" survey — you draw what's actually there, not what the original plans called for. The As-Built does the same thing with your company. You confirm, we set it up.

The principle

Recognizing is easy. Remembering is impossible.

Ask an owner to describe his whole bidding process and he'll forget half of it — not because he doesn't know his business, but because nobody can recite from memory something he's been doing on instinct for twenty years.

Hand him a written description of his process instead and he'll correct you in three seconds: "no, that's Isabelle's job, and we don't do it that way for a long-time client." That's where the information that matters is. Recognition digs out what recall leaves buried.

What we look for in every system

  • The triggers — what kicks off the step
  • The decisions — who calls it, and on what basis
  • The hand-offs — where information changes hands (and gets lost)
  • The exceptions — the "except when," which happens more often than the rule
  • The "workarounds" — the fixes you invented that nobody ever wrote down

The path

Seven phases, from the first chat to standing on your own.

Two to four weeks for phases 0 through 4. The rest happens over your first thirty days of use.

0

A beer with Buddy

No agenda, no form. We talk about your company, how you got here, and what's driving you nuts the most.

1

The story

"Walk me through your last job, from the first phone call to getting paid." One full story beats fifty questions.

2

The artifacts

Your last bid, your crew texts, your cost spreadsheet, your leases. The real documents, not a description.

3

The typical day

Where your hours go, and above all: what interrupts you. The waste hides in the interruptions.

4

The As-Built

We hand you the map of your company. The moment of truth: "that's exactly it." If not we start over — or you don't pay.

5

The first wins

We fix the headache that's costing you the most first. Your crew sees a result before they see a change.

6

Standing on your own

We open the doors one at a time, at the pace trust builds. Thirty days of supported adoption.

The framework

Six universal systems, twenty-six processes.

Whatever the sector, an established company runs on the same six systems. What changes is how YOU run them. That's what we survey.

01 — Lead → Bid

Where your requests come from, how you qualify, how you price.

02 — Bid → Won

The follow-ups, the negotiation, the moment it becomes a real job.

03 — Planning

Resources, schedules, purchasing, subs, permits.

04 — Execution

What happens in the field, and how it makes its way back to the office.

05 — Invoicing → Paid

Progress billing, holdbacks, follow-ups, collection.

06 — The interruption layer

The calls, the emergencies, the "got two minutes?" The invisible system that eats your days.

The trust model

The AI proposes, the human decides.

We automate nothing before you're comfortable. Every task has a level, and the level goes up when you decide it goes up.

⚖️ Gate — approval required

The AI gets it ready, you approve before it goes out. For anything that commits your company: prices, contracts, job-site decisions, sensitive communications.

◐ Review — spot-checked

The AI does the work, it goes out, and we check a sample. The middle level, where trust gets built on evidence.

⟳ Auto — automated and logged

It runs on its own. Everything is logged — you can always go back and see what happened and why.

Two more rules we follow

"We flag, we don't guess." When the AI isn't sure, it raises a flag instead of inventing an answer. "We throw nothing out." Your history is archived in full, even the parts we're not using yet.

What you walk away with

Four deliverables. All yours.

The map of your business

Your steps, your vocabulary, your unwritten rules, your workarounds. A document you could hand a new employee.

Your tools set up

Not an empty shell: your real jobs, your real clients, your real prices in there from day one.

Your autonomy plan

The 12 AI capabilities, where you stand today, and where we're aiming in 12 months.

Your crew trained

Sessions on your real jobs, not a PDF and a link to a video.

You could walk out tomorrow morning with your plans. The survey belongs to you — no lock-in, open format, data hosted in Canada, Law 25 respected.

The guarantee

If you don't recognize your own company in the map, you don't pay.

At the end of phase 4, we hand you the map. If you tell us that's not your business, we stop right there and refund you in full. No questions. We can afford to offer that because if the map is wrong, we don't want the mandate anyway.

It starts with a chat.

Thirty minutes. You walk us through your last job, we tell you what we see. No software demo, no slide deck.
